I use music a lot as a motif. I like it both as a setting placeholder or as a foreshadowing element.

Also, Disturbed's version is very good, but I think the original & cover are so different as to be incomparable.
Q2.
How do you use sound, music, or the absence of it?
And if we're speaking of the absence of it, Disturbed's Sound of Silence (with Myles Kennedy) is way better than the original of it and you'll just have to accept that.
I will die on this hill!

Hey #HorrorWritersChat ! I write a lot of mixed genre work, but my horror is a lot of body horror, angry women, and Latin American flavor, woven together. Currently been listening to a love of indie pop synth, like the Knocks, MUNA, the midnight, and Tove Lo.
Q1.
#HorrorWritersChat, you know what to do.
No links. Not till the end. No sneaky promo. Just lots of lovely lovely chat.

Just remembering how when I went to talk to that local high school last week one of the kids asked "So in THE BUTCHER OF THE FOREST how come you made the main character so old?"

And I almost began my answer with "Look, you little shit" but I did NOT

I have been perfectly happy since the switch to Tidal, the playlist transfer was pretty seamless and my literal only problem is remembering which icon to use on my phone to get to the music since I can't find the green circle anymore
Spotify is garbage on every count: Its treatment of artists, its ICE advertising, the CEO's investment in military AI, its leading role in the commodification and AI slopification of music, its terrible audio quality—you name it.

So I quit, and put together a complete guide to getting off Spotify:

A great example of why you should never write off Staten Island: ICE agents’ tires were slashed while staging to disappear New Yorkers.

The agent in the video isn’t fully visible but looks like Brendan Cuni. If so and this is his vehicle, he swapped license plates to avoid detection.
