Well the Democrats seem to think that negotiating means starting from a Republican plan and then making it even worse (see Obamacare), so that might be one reason why it hasn't worked very well.

Hasn't home automation basically been solved for like 2 decades, it's just that the stuff that works is really boring and not very sexy, so people keep making exciting cloud based AI powered versions that suck horrendously?

Neighbor Uncle (I assume this is the same as "the old guy who lives down the block") is there because he has nothing better to do, and he considers it his business to know what's going on in the neighborhood. I have several of those types who live near me in Portland - it's universal.

Or the gerrymander attempt in Texas - the DOJ sent Texas a memo giving the one reason you're absolutely not allowed to gerrymander: race. If they had made it political (going after majority white blue districts too) it would have been legal-ish.

Just like with the Comey prosecution attempt. They waited till the last minute after everyone competent had bowed out, and improperly installed a moron who didn't know what she was doing.
