“Andor” is over and I won’t be the same. If they wanted to make a SW show set between the OT movies called And-MORE, following the remaining characters, I’d be down for that. Luke Han and Leia aren’t seen cause they’re off doing heroic stuff, not murking their comrades or doing other sleazy work.

if, ten years ago, your entire understanding of politics was that the right wing wanted to destroy everything because they were evil, you had a more accurate and more predictive analysis than functionally the entire American media and political apparatus

I thought of this movie first because I watched it a couple years ago and it was a BANGER. And yes, Hackman as the villain was incredible. He had so many raw and wicked lines only he could deliver.
Gene Hackman dying seems a good time to tell you that Sam Raimi made a western called The Quick and the Dead, absolutely every cool actor is in it, Hackman destroys in every scene as the Big Bad, and for weird reasons 1995 America decided it was bad and erased it from memory

‘Phasing’ anything has always been a “I can’t suspend my disbelief”. Shadowcat in X-Men always made me go, “BUT HOW??”
I know this is absolutely meaningless in the whole scheme of things but whether it's TNG, Stargate SG1, Section 31, or any other scifi, but every time we have an "out of phase" story where people are walking through walls I'm screaming "WHY AREN'T THEY FALLING THROUGH THE FLOOR" at the screen

Ready Player One is despicable for many reasons, but today I woke up mad at its portrayal of the oligarch tech lord as a good and decent person. Yes the man who invents an app that ensnares all of society, so much so that they abandon reality altogether, he would be benevolent and virtuous, for sure

1) he doesn’t have any friends
2) Beverly Hills is unaffected so far
3) even if it was being ‘decimated’, the fact that his concern in this moment is only for rich folks and the ‘biggest most valuable homes’ tells you everything about this pathetic man.
Trump: I know those areas very well. I have many friends living in those houses. That is a true tragedy. Nobody ever thought -- I mean virtually Beverly Hills and areas around Beverly an are being decimated.

We’re getting a horrific glimpse at the possible future. Widespread, cataclysmic climate change tragedies made worse by austerity and blamed on minorities by the Right, who will use their power to enable the wealth class as they continue to profit

It doesn’t have to be this way. We can change this.

Streaming in 2010: You can watch an entire catalog of amazing movies and TV shows for a reasonable monthly fee

Streaming in 2025: our library is Batman movies and 28 seasons of a Tim Allen sitcom, it costs $159/month. We just destroyed the last piece of evidence that Mister Rogers ever existed
Scoop: Warner Bros. Discovery has quietly pulled "The West Wing" from its Max streamer as part of a cost-cutting move following a ROI evaluation. Details in @status.news: link.status.news/3C72V5Z

Trump’s threats to weaponize the government and Musk’s total takeover is prepping the political landscape for an authoritarian push in which Democrats and liberals normalize everything while praising them like feudal lords in order to protect themselves and secure scraps wherever they can get them.
