For our last week of teaching our keywords for the week were working + play so I taught them about some basic game design theory (affordances, signifiers, constraints) and gave them time to play some free browser-based games in groups to explore the concepts!

Gotta love that our university president set into motion a flurry of emails and phone calls at 6 AM this morning that was at least in part fear mongering.

However, the force noted that two people were arrested on campus after classes were interrupted. “One person was arrested for starting a fire alarm, so [a potential charge of] mischief,” said Raphaël Bergeron, a spokesperson with Montreal police. “Another person was arrested for assault.”

I saw some cute queer art today at MAC VAL (contemporary art museum) in Paris today.

The disability & design exhibit at the V&A in London was excellent. It wasn't very large but at the same time I've never seen anything like it, with so many artefacts that are designed by disabled people for disabled people.

This is an artist statement for their AI art and I want people to know that this is not what "queering" means.

This is someone trying to co-opt a term to make themself feel good about contributing to making people's lives materially worse.

There couldn't be anything less queer.
