Slime molds come in every color, but only a few species can grow in the lab. They are about 80-90% water & their pigments tend to fade. I have read that some specimens of Fuligo septica retain color, & its yellow color is actually from a chelator, allowing survival in heavy metal contaminated areas.

i think saeko's default outfit is even worse because i cannot fathom any way it would feasibly function in a real world setting unless my understanding of physics is wildly mistaken.
