The "head into danger" start option in Quest for Glory V is a debug option that was accidentally left in the game
i was going through my X archives and found this by @superpodsaga.com, which I qrt'd at some point years ago

so, let me bring the question back: what is the most useless piece of video game knowledge you know?

I joined Edelman, Xbox's PR agency, on the Xbox account shortly after the console launched. I distinctly remember advocating for PR to focus on Oblivion even though it wasn't a first party title. Lots of good memories of those days!
Hoihoi, it's the Xbox 360's 20th birthday today! Happy birthday, one of my favourite and personally important consoles in my gaming life.

Yes, I too fought the RROD.

But yeah, the 360 was my gateway to that generation of gaming. Mirror's Edge, Mass Effect, Fallout 3, Assassin's Creed II...

I mentioned a partnership that gives me access to a trove of QFG concept art, sketches, photos, and original paintings. I just tallied everything and removed dupes and there are 256 individual assets to add to the book. A nice round number too! How about a little preview? :)

Just as a heads up, I know most of you follow me for QFG updates, but I'm primarily a fiction and game writer so I'll occasionally post about that stuff too 😃
Hardest: spicy scenes. Yeah, I said it, writing spice is way more difficult than most people acknowledge

Easiest: Also dialogue, but I default to Quentin Tarantino-style bullshit way more than I ever should. I've always thought I'd be great at writing screenplays
What scenes are the hardest and easiest for you to write?

Hardest for me: Drawn out battle scenes. Takes me forever to write because I'm trying to keep the action going.

Easiest: Dialogue. I trained on Gilmore Girls, Tolkien and Buffy lmao. Dialogue is my jam.

My friend @darkcrowind.bsky.social and I just finished the VGA version of Quest for Glory!
I’d completely forgotten how fun this game is.

We had a blast and laughed so much!

I find Hero's Quest the most realistic of the games because much like in real life, I can't sleep when I want to
