I do agree that Discord's network requirements are ridiculous for a chat app, though.

I think that saying it as "not my preferred language though" while working as host or organiser is puzzling behaviour though. Definitely comes off as dismissive to an extent in that context at least.

That said, not knowing German here is definitely logistically difficult in many ways.

The pizza place near me often has recent immigrant employees. Sometimes ordering is difficult, but they're clearly learning so I don't really mind it that much.

That app is such a shitshow now. Probably my current least-liked one that I actually use for communication.

It's icky stuff. In some ways I think I'm fortunate that the messy trends are blowing through while I can't work.

Small hint to avoid this: You can prompt them by phrasing tasks as assessments ("… has (issue) [because …]. It would be better to …") or as personal plans ("I'd like to …).
