I know.

I’m just salty bcs I was like “maybe Metra should run more than one train per hour on this quad track line” and a bunch of people were rushing to comment on how it’s actually not technically possible to do so.

+1 for center running on Mag Mile

I had assumed the issue was going from the 66 to points south, not north

Ah, that’s my south side bias lol, Chicago Ave to N LSD is a foreign concept to me.

I will say, operations-wise, the buses probably save time by not getting stuck behind the 3 buses that need to both stop, then make a right on Chicago Ave

That, and lowkey they don’t really need to. 3/151/Red is more than enough

Not an official one, I’m being somewhat premature; Nora Leershen stated that she’d like to use some of the funding from the recent bill to pursue 24hr Orange Line service

99. Physical media is good, and if you're not going to get into vinyl and celluloid you should at least get into CDs and books.

Well, one half of that statement is true

WMATA didn’t solely increase service by just reducing costs tho, and many of those savings were one-time budget efficiencies. I’m struggling to think of any examples by a serious transit agency where “reduce costs” was the only lever that lead to an increase in service

In ALX, you generally either lived within walking distance of the train or a bus to Pentagon & most stations didn’t have parking. Now that taking the bus is free and parking is not, it may become a alternative to get to the red line if the trip is attractive enough, esp for Shady Grove or Rockville

Much like in Alexandria, where I lived for the past 3 yes, free bus will not move the needle significantly for folks who take the train or switch to Metrobus. One difference tho, it may get ppl to switch taking the bus to the train, since there are many more stations with parking in MoCo than ALX
