In Phoenix, we see entire civilisations rise and fall, the heat-death of the universe twice-over, but it never feels overbearing or oppressive. It's 2001: A Space Odyssey one page, Abbott and Costello the next, and all with some of the most interesting layouts and designs I've ever seen.

I'm constantly trying to find my way into writing a good script on Phoenix, particularly all the different adaptations.

Thank you!! Yeah, that's a fair point. I don't ever really engage with Eva fandom bc it seems to be basically entirely shipping discourse or constantly re-litigation of its inspirations, both of which are boring lol (or exhausting, really, with the aggro tenor ppl tend to have)

Thank you! ^^

It can be very tough in the anitube space to figure out how to create a video on something old that won't disappear immediately. I've tried (and failed) many times to crack how to do an Osamu Tezuka one, for instance.

Of course, there's really no telling what will hit the algorithm and what won't. Somehow my best performing video is on Dougram (though, putting Gundam in the title certainly helped). A video I wrote and recorded in an afternoon (space prussians) also did very well.

I’m unsure why it didn’t do great. Maybe my voice-over was too sedate? Or maybe it’s because Eva isn’t really that active a fandom, despite how ubiquitous it is.

I adooooore Visitor in the Eye. The scene where the evil count guy plays the piano and it overpowers the soundtrack.... cinema

The use of star system characters is pretty sparse, but I like when they appear. Sugino Akio Ham Egg weirdly works.

fairly certain that Yuki, Tezuka's bisexual serial killer kabuki actor, is an extension of Rock's sociopathic turn in Alabaster.

"don't you think that's enough of this face talk" correct response

Alabaster by Tezuka :)

To be clear, I'll only be looking into commissioning an artist if the book doesn't acquire an agent, and there will be a few more months of querying left still before I think about that. So this was more to put the feelers out.
