In other news, I finally got around to reading The Invincible by Stanislaw Lem, after playing the game. It's a good book! I can see why they thought to adapt it to a game. It works really well for that setting and plot. And it's neat to see how certain things in the book translated to the game.

On a more serious note, I noticed I'm suffering from a particular kind of burn out where I don't feel like I'm 'allowed' to play games e.g. Satisfactory, because I have so many other things I need to be working on. |>
I'm definitely looking forward to some time off at the end of the year.

Started a new Satisfactory game because I just wanted to relax building some easy early tier stuff. I really appreciate their new game+ modes where you can start with stuff unlocked and turn off spiders. I kinda feel like at this point I've got nothing to prove, so I can do that. x)

Lots of progress on the game. Was able to optimize a bunch of code and free up ~250 tokens. I won't go into the weeds but I was able to completely remove a complex bit of code and replace it with a better solution that also fixed 2 or 3 other things, saving even more tokens. Pretty proud of that x)

Thank god I know Photoshop well enough that I can make shitposts in under 3 minutes. That art school education really pays for itself.

It'll be interesting to see how well the camera tracking works on the Frame. But I'm very much looking forward to just being able to hang out in my armchair and watch ̶p̶o̶r̶n̶movies without needing to be in the middle of the room and visible to the trackers.

The 2025 Godot show reel just came out and my god, it's just stunning. The amount of amazing cool stuff people are doing in this engine now is so inspiring. I'd love to get back into Godot development if I had more time for it.

The 2025 Godot show reel just came out and my god, it's just stunning. The amount of amazing cool stuff people are doing in this engine now is so inspiring. I'd love to get back into Godot development if I had more time for it.

There is still some polish I want to add. (Still been lazy about those sound effects! And music!) But I'm down to about 50 tokens so I'm limited in what I can do with the logic. My goal is to get this finished by Christmas though and I'm pretty much there. #pico8

Apparently stress fractures in the spine aren't uncommon in people who exercise a lot.
So here I am, thinking I'm doing the right thing and building muscle and keeping healthy and it probably just hurt me. :c
In fairness, I am the sort of person who pushes myself too hard though, so... ah well.

Oh my god I just got a wild phone call.
It turns out I broke my back. I have a minor stress fracture in a lower vertebra.
I've been having back pain and I thought it might've been a pinched nerve or slipped disc. Got X-rays yesterday and they just called and said stop physical activity for now

Hempfield school board R's went all in against trans rights. D's took the board 6 - 3, the first ever D control in history.
