My first book of the year 2026 is 2666 - it was that or starting War and Peace again (but there will still be too many Mikhail Filipoviches) or The Count of Monte Cristo (too much in vogue with the wrong set). So David Lodge meets Cormac McCarthy it is! It's been fun so far (110 pages in)
