There were like 1/4 of my dad's senior class at my brother-in-laws funeral. He was not connected other than via my sister and it was a 45 minute drive. 70-something retirees are ready for funerals.

My dad played basketball with high high school friends/teammates weekly into his 60s in his school gym. The school is now an apartment building and my sister lives there, so he still occasionally shoots hoops in his high school gym.

Im still friends with my friends from Kindergarten or before. Im 39. My dad is too. He's 74. One of my friends since Kindergarten's mom went to school with my dad. Known each other since they were little and graduated high school together.
