So I was recommended two anime by two different people to watch this weekend. The first was Princess Jellyfish, the second was Angel Beats.
I *thought* Angel Beats would be like a somber anime with an emphasis on music.
I did not expect a high school "kill a girl" club and said girl is *very* OP.

Finished watching Princess Jellyfish! It's a shame it's only 11 episodes, it was really good! A couple weird bits for sure lol, but two main characters in particular I think were quite interesting. The author didn't try to hide or downplay their flaws, but wrote them with surprising dignity.

In an amusing coincidence, Jessie James Grelle, who voiced Yuji Sakai in Shakugan no Shana, is also the voice of Kuranosuke Koibuchi in Princess Jellyfish which I'm watching now.

I'm still sitting here 2 months later thinking about what a good character Pilika is. So much more multi-faceted than I expected from Rune Factory. Had SUCH a good time playing through her romance route. Credit where it's due, at least I don't regret having to pay for it lol. More than worth it.

I had a dream last night where Owain got a New Heroes harmonized alt and he was paired with both Cain and Abel like that Baby Whitewings duo hero.
It's not the *most* absurd I suppose...I mean they were knights of his ancestor. But I somehow doubt this dream will come true...

This part in the last Toradora episode is all anime-original since, well, it just doesn't play out like this in the novels, and it's basically like the one actual bit of humour in this pretty drama-filled part of the show. From heartfelt right into comedy. Carrie Keranen is so good as Ms. Koigakubo.

And by the by, since Akira from Virtua Fighter is in this game (and as the final boss he took me 3 tries to beat, while I beat everyone else my first try. It was super fun though), that means Taiga Aisaka is only 2 degrees of separation from Super Smash Bros. since Akira is an assist trophy in Smash

Frankly Taiga's entire moveset is an absolute love letter to the series. The swinging mic, the sled, the badminton racket, Ryuuji holding her back after one of her supers like when she was fighting Sumire Kanou. I love it.

Played through Taiga's arcade mode in Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax. She and Shana had unique intro lines for each other lmao. I was learning as I went, but I eventually learned how to use my supers. The kick-the-pole scene into the flying-kick scene as a fighting-game super move lol, brilliant.
