Been ill, missed the conversations. He/him. Have degrees in history and law. Had a career in politics and research. Mostly just coping with matters beyond my control these days.
A friend or mine with a physics PhD was complaining recently of a boss who had discovered AI. It's trained stochastically on hype for techs that ultimately didn't pan out, so his job is increasingly researching why yesteryear's grear tech turned out to be unfit for adoption.

I can see why the artist might find it super annoying. In a sense, AI empowers the ignorant to boss around experts. If there are technical or aesrhetic reasons to do it a different way, there could be a lot of "but the AI showed you how to do it!"

The prize goal for Stephen Miller and others who surround Trump is to trigger both the Alien Enemies Act and the Insurrection Act - formal bases for unlimited executive power.

A great deal of what is being done is simply them working backwards from that objective.

Apparently God and the Devil are back in divorce court again. Apparently there's a dispute over who should get soul custody.

You can defeat your opponents without converting them. Demobilization matters.

When there's a leadership vacuum and people in a movement are fighting each other, it saps energy. They lose organizational power. Fewer of them take action. Fewer vote.

"Critics contend that the absence of any laws authorizing such a move - and a litany of laws expressly prohibiting it - render the proposal unlawful. Republicans respond, 'suck it libs'"

I remember thinking at the time "Cornhusker Compromise" will absolutely be the answer to a question on AP US History exams some day.

My mother was birn in Holland and was just explaining to me the difference in dialect between Hollanders and Limbergers, over how they pronounce "ui". It's sort of a "wee" to her and an "oy" to them, apparently.

What if The Left was never a Great Crusade at all? What if "leftism" was simply an emergent property of stimulating and civil discourse?

A nuclear-armed U.S. under full totalitarian control is an existential threat to billions of people. To life on this planet.

It's up to us, U.S. citizens living here in the imperial core, to stop it. Nobody is coming to save us. Not the U.N., not the ICJ. It's us or it's nobody.
