tl;dr it was probably different when I got them, but I just don’t think the M system is for me anymore

My favourite “M mount” lenses are mostly conversions of weird French lenses and the like. I have like, a 50mm Summicron and a 21mm Super Angulon in M mount now and that’s it for native M mount stuff

Also, I don’t really think they offer much of anything unique in the context of other cameras I have. Asides from what you mentioned, which is not really important for me anymore. If I want something small and quiet I just use a LTM Leica (or copies) as I find them infinitely more interesting to use

Is a 7ii “worth it”? Probably not either, but I don’t have a 6x7 camera so it provides something different that my M6 doesn’t

Perhaps a hot take in the film community, but I don’t think getting an M6 was really worth it, asides from the fact that there are tons of weird lens conversions for Leica M. I honestly like screw mount Leicas more..

What if I got rid of my Leica M kit instead 🤔🤔🤔

Local camera store has a Mamiya 7II in. Should I do something fucked up like trade my Hasselblad kit for it (plus some extras I guess)

I mostly keep the 500C/M for sentimental reasons; I got it in Australia for a very good price as my first medium format camera. And I've taken some photos with it that I'm very happy with.

I've been pondering on an SWC for street use for months now, but idk if it's worth trying.

I agree! The advance on mine was pretty crunchy when I got it despite being "serviced" (and the shutter timings were off). I suspect it was a junk bin camera or something, but it works and feels fantastic after a CLA. Not quite as premium feeling as the III-L, but those are quite rare.

The YF and the III-L it's based on/inspired by are my two favourite Leica copies. The advance lever on them is so neat.
