Status Quo Politics is holding us back. Who will call for a big fight, and big change? The status quo cannot hold.

Feed Musk’s wealth and power into the woodchipper

(distribute it to the less fortunate via the government)
But more importantly, can you say wood chipper on this site?

Also, Elon Musk must be prosecuted for his crimes against the Constitution and the American Republic — including illegally destroying USAID.

We must feed Musk’s wealth into the wood chipper. It must be our mission.

This is why it’s so important that @indivisible.org @ezralevin.bsky.social and @leahgreenberg.bsky.social are calling for primarying weak Democrats and getting real leaders in place. We will do this.
I pray for all of these things ever day but with Dems droning on about ACA subsidies and not foaming at the mouth with “the GOP are a pack of lawless criminals who are destroying the country and should be punished,” my nightmare is it will just be Biden “let’s all move on and be friends” redux.

Bill Barr may have tried to paper over his crimes at DOJ during Trump I, but he must be tried and imprisoned. He was an architect of the occupation of DC and the raid on BLM plaza. We must know what he knew about family separation, lawless pardons, and obstruction.

the other thing we all need to get on board with:

Bill Barr is going to have to be tried either at The Hague or in domestic Nuremberg trials too.

It’s not just Bondi.
John Mitchell served 19 months for the offenses he committed during Watergate.
Bondi should easily break that record.

The big question for the future is:
Do we join the ICC and hand everyone including Bondi over to The Hague, or do we do a Nuremberg-style set of post-fascist trials here in the US?

It’s one or the other

the story is about how the American elite is rotten to its very marrow, to the extent that half of it was plotting and scheming about how to use Trump to advance their own venal interests before he even won

I agree with this and would add one thing: the way the institution functions is itself shaped by the choices made at the top esp by the publisher. The host of the Daily is in that spot; Leonhardt got a daily blog; Pat Healy is now in charge of Standards b/c Sulzberger wants those ppl there.

And it is indescribably gross

It’s not really workshopping comms, the unstated message is “hey if you have any connections to encourage Serena Williams to accept please work them”

Reactionary centrists loved. It was a hit with the WSJ crowd.

You may have unresolved mommy-is-a-liberal issues but don’t drag us into it.
small correction - he wrote a book liberals loved.

The good thing about real democracy is no one has to beg billionaires for money.

Now imagine every university, every artist, every library, every writer and academic and journalist having to beg billionaires for money.

That’s what the billionaires want and this is why we must stop them.
