'Cambridge time' isn't a convention though. Whereas you can just look up any Oxford lecture list and find it stated that lectures begin five mins past the hour. I think people on this thread think it isn't true because they went their whole uni careers without noticing, since it's just five mins!

The beauty of this is Oxford time is actually five mins behind GMT and a lot of the city and uni does still run five mins late! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxford_....
