I always forget how intensive cutscenes are to make until I start working on one again. Especially the very dynamic ones. Definitly gonna put some work into making a proper system for it in my next game.

currently working on what is possibly the biggest, most animated cutscene in the game.

I feel like chapter 2 of #Probomtine is gonna be one of the hardest ones to develop for. There's so many fine details and story points that need to be set up well.

I think it is going well, but it's definitly slow going. It's gonna be weird when I can finally move onto chapter 3.

I find it really funny when people say that pixel art is just a nostalgia thing or that pixel artists are "doing it wrong" because back in the day it was supposed to be blured via CRT, because I grew up in the wii/360 era. My point of reference for it is exclusvily the modern interpretations.

Never really shown off any of the cutscenes in the game before, so here's one I'm particularly happy with!

This cutscene is where we gain access to the first proper level of the game. The Caves.

Slight redesign for chapter 2's background. Small change but I think it makes the level way more readable overall.

There's probably still some changes to be made before I'm completely happy with it, so look forward to that.

As development of chapter 1 of #Probomtine comes to an end, I thought it'd be nice to go back and look at some old concept art I did for the level. Turns out a shocking ammount of it is just the test subject being attacked by the worms lol.

The colossal beetles of Starlight forest would be a big issue for the surrounding Solantian towns... That is of course, if it wasn't for their incredibly docile nature.

Some old footage I found of a mechanic I've been working on. Bounce attacks can be instrumental to progressing through the treacherous areas of Solantium. Just make sure to control your height to avoid unforeseen obstacles.

Been working on some new mechanics for early chapter 2 recently. There's been a bit of trial and error but I finally got something I think is pretty good. Still gotta polish it up but I'm happy with where it is right now.
