The concept of a man in a typically matriarchal position of power is quiiiite interesting to me. A lot could be done with that genderwise.
Star Trek Beta Wiki excerpt about Vulcan clan roles. Vulcan family units (tribes or clans) of the same House were led by an individual that held the title of the Eldest of House (also known as the Head of House). Normally a matriarch, the eldest of house was in charge of the affairs of their House and/or one or more of its constituent clans or tribes. (TOS novel: Sarek) Examples of individuals who held this title included Elieth (great-aunt to starfleet officer Tuvok), who held the title of Eldest Mother of her House until her death when it was passed on to Tuvok's mother T'Meni. (VOY novel: Pathways)

1. WHY would they name him Uhuro instead of Uhuru? I looked up Uhuro to see if it was a real name and they said 'did you mean UHURU?'

2. WHY is he bald...Uhura would not be bald as a man...you just didn't want to draw black hair huh?? Straight hair for Uhura and NO hair for Uhuro!!!

Context: Tuvok's father and wife entered his quarters for the first time since he [re]joined Starfleet and saw that he only had one replicator instead of the separate ones required for a'riyokul eating. They were told that having separate replicators seemed "unnecessary" and this didn't go well.
T'Pel stands beside Tuvok's father. Her expression is slightly displeased. Tuvok's father, Sunak is wearing a Starfleet admiral's uniform. He looks slightly confused. He exclaims "Oh! He's in Starfleet three years and suddenly cannot be bothered to follow ari'yokul. I have persisted for over FIFTY but...we differ." Tuvok attempts to head off this rant by interrupting. "Father." "What?" Sunak responds, glancing towards T'Pel with a raised brow. "You have always lacked commitment, Tuvok. Careful, T'Pel. Next you know he'll bid you to show your hair in public." Tuvok, firmer this time, interrupts Sunak with an impatient "Father."

This is one of my favorite outfits for Tuvok...the turtleneck tunic combo!! He loves: Being covered up as much as possible, layers, color, and a cinched waist. His outfits tend to look quite formal. (the Maquis one is, I suspect, meant to look more 'casual' - his best guess at criminal fashion)

Something so beautiful about Tuvok's ugly ass [/endeared] Maquis outfit...keeping this image here so I don't have to hunt for it again. I like how a portion of his jacket looks see-through from afar (reminds me of...lace?) & I like the little holster belt to cinch his waist.

I don't believe that memory beta's right about this for various reasons but it IS very funny to play in that space. Imagine you misbehave and your father sends you to Temple Mount on strike one.
A paragraph from memory beta asserting that Tuvok's father took him to the Temple of Amonak to banish him and then a line from memory alpha informing us that the Temple of Amonak was one of the most sacred temples on Vulcan.

Very lightly analyzing Spock's home/a Vulcan cityscape as depicted in TAS. Some interesting tidbits are that there's a month called Tasmeen, Vulcans have familial shrines they might journey to reach, & apparently it's fine to just show up at the house of a family member you've never met before.

An androgynous person stares to the right with wide eyes. The pupils contained within are large and splotchy. They are covered from head to toe in simple, shapeless fabric. There is an assortment of various knick-knacks attached to their body, gathered at the hip. They hold a staff in the vague shape of a crescent. We cannot see another arm. Their hair and the lower half of their face is covered in cloth which drapes down like dog ears. There are horns protruding from their head. An arrow pointing to them says "NUN FUCKS GOD'S HUSK" They also have a tail that's being stepped on by the second character, a man to their right. To their right stands a man dressed in a pristine soldier's uniform belonging to no real nation. He is heavily decorated and is wearing both gloves and boots. Insect mandibles sit on his face in lieu of a mouth and he has three pairs of eyes with a false eye between his only functioning pair. His forehead is colored differently from the rest of his body, the marking forming a shape which makes the false eye appear more real. He is standing stiffly, fists clenched, and staring with slit-like pupils into the distance. He has no eyebrows. The expression on his face is intense but unreadable.

This SHOULD be about T'Pol and I guess in some ways it is, but I /was/ thinking in the moment about Prymaat from the animated pilot for The Coneheads. I know nothing about the movie and don't want to.

Fascinated by Vulcans and their...altar-type spaces? I don't know what you'd call it but in my head it's just expected for a Vulcan living space to have a personalized corner for meditation. I love that lower decks indulged a headcanon of mine that Vulcan ships have meditation rooms.

There are two objects I can't identify easily in the back - one looks to be a clay square with blue stones jutting out of it unevenly and the other is a small pillar, perhaps another candle holder. Image Two: Tuvok sits on a meditation pillow and small, portable rug, wedged between a replicator and an accent table. There is a tapestry brown and golden hanging above the table. On the table is a plant, a decorative plate, a round bauble-like object and a small cylindrical object I can't identify. It could possibly be a bottle or an incense stick holder. Tuvok is reaching for the floor. Directly in front of him, there is a meditation lamp, lit. Image Three: T'Pol sits with her back to a shelf. The shelf contains a large circular candle holder with cutouts in its design which give it two handles. It is unlit. On each side there is a lit candle inside a smaller holder - one is much rounder than the other, shielding more of the candle. There rest of the shelf is barren and there are no other decorations in the frame. From The First Virtue, a Star Trek Novel "Inwardly, Tuvok shivered. Humans, he thought. He had been around them far too long in situations that were far too volatile. He longed for the crystalline stillness of Vulcan's deep meditation chambers, the tranquility of a walk in a sunwashed, crimson desert, the sense of balance and well-being that enveloped him when he sat down to harmonious meals with his family." T'Pol and other Vulcans sit in a dimly lit meditation room. It is barren except for the multiple candles flickering in front of them and the vases on the walls. T'Pol stares forward as the two Vulcans to either side of her look her way. All of their expressions are neutral.

First time drawing AOS and it's for an AU where AOS Tuvok meets Spock and there's complicated shit regarding Spock's family issues, the destruction of Vulcan, and Tuvok being irritating to talk to but an undeniably excellent father.
A sketch page of three separate scenes. One: Spock holds up one of Tuvok's toddlers who is dressed in a frilly little outfit and an adorable little hat. He presents the baby to an unseen Kirk who responds with an irritated "...Yeah. I see her." Spock's expression is neutral but his eyes are shining eagerly. There is a lost child announcement happening over the PA. It's unclear if the announcement spurred the two men to search or if it came on only after finding her. Two: Tuvok is feeding a young Vulcan child milk, peering down at them as he speaks to Spock. "I simply believe that, with the recent tragedy, my place is with our people on New Vulcan - assisting with and growing my family. Being a professor also keeps me quite busy, we ARE now, in essence, an endangered species. In my colony, every hand is precious...although I am certain your work is important as well, son of Sarek." We see a reaction shot of Spock who appears to be subtly holding back his irritation. Behind him, one nondescript crew member whispers "he's gonna blow," to another. It is unclear whether Tuvok is trying to piss Spock off or not. Three: Tuvok has the toddler from the first image strapped to his back and is talking with an older child. The conversation appears calm and plentiful. The toddler is asleep. They are labelled 'Idyllic Vulcan Family' We see Spock floating behind them, depicted as akin to a sad wet cat with sparkling eyes. 'Mr Family Issues' floats about his head with several arrows pointing to him. Below these two panels there is text reading 'Tuvok v Sarek but instead of fighting they just call their adult children and see who gets an answer.'

Worf as a child. His form is cut up and taped together, like a paper doll. His forehead is covered in blood and his hands is a bloody soccer ball. He is curiously dressed for the winter and not necessarily a soccer game, his black boots covered in blood which connects him clearly to something just out of the viewer's sight. A head? A black hole? Blood gushes from it, marking Worf as guilty. The scene takes place in a dreamlike void, a traumatic memory which has been revisited countless times.
