Tomorrow, the Democratic Party of Evanston members will vote to endorse candidates.

Unfortunately, the DPOE misrepresented us on the ballot, didn’t tell us, and still has not issued a formal correction.

So we’re doing it ourselves:

@seanferrick.bsky.social Fun fact! Hump back whales have an almost year long gestation period and usually give birth every 2 years. Which suggests that any adult female humpback whale has a ~50/50 (or maybe ~33% if i misunderstood the wiki) chance of being pregnant. #spoiler

Good morning. What a deeply embarrassing day to be a US citizen, on so many levels.

Woke up early and have been using the quiet hours to get some work done when I started hearing something from elsewhere in the house.

I listen closer—It's mournful sobbing in my son's octave.

Did our dog pass in the night?

Did my husband?!

I run to him.

No... his tablet won't load a game.

Sorry, y'all. I just started rewatching Prodigy and episode 2 reminds me that the federation is cool and it's just adults that sucks.
I will say that it did a good job of making me wonder if the Federation was ever the utopia it was stated to be or if we've only ever really seen the works from the view of their well-supplied military...

My quibbles with Star Trek Academy were undercut by autocorrect and I didn't realize for almost 24 hours. 😑 Unlike the haters, I would argue that it isn't woke enough.

I think about this often. I wager it's rare that something I say will be a wholly new idea, and it's unlikely to reach a wide audience.

But it's my expression of the idea for a specific time and place, and people will hear it precisely when and how they do. And that could make all the difference.

My least favorite thing about the world of Ai is that sometimes I can't tell if something is ai or a good photo edit, that people think "good" uses of generative Ai exists and are excused from the description of "Ai slop", and that we don't have the patience to get to agree to the terms of dialogue.
