While I think it's generally better to make the game appealing to a larger audience, I also think it'll reduce the game essense and personal touch to it. As Sakurai once put it nicely.

Not exact sure, but pretty sure that was made to make jumping over them actually possible, and not that they camp and wavedash around wherever you're landing.
I like to make them difficult, but still fair

I didn't like the idea that Samantha goes off hurting animals to save a single one, so most of the enemies are plants and insects
The wolves also aren't aggressive by nature, She would be reluctant to fight them if there was another way

Even though it's no longer needed, I still think it still has it's charm.
