I’ve had great events at universities and community rooms. It’s really all about good planning over the posh space.

It’s one reason the non-profit I support stopped doing a yearly gala and went to a community based event.

Some of it has to do with non-profits and unexpectedly cut grants, but there is a core of it that is a mystery.

Budgets/income haven’t increased and costs have skyrocketed so art and meeting budgets must be to trimmed before anything else, but participants have high expectations for polish.

I’m happy I chose a long time ago (out of nessesity) to diversify all the things do, but it’s an open question about what this signifies longterm.

Lower rates to meet the market? Walk away from some of it?

I did learn that her favorite ice cream was Cookies n’ Cream. She thought the golden Oreo pointed out as something new to try was a bit much. I tried.

I can’t imagine it’s going well one on one. One woman approached me while I was in line getting ice cream within kids. Didn’t have any points to sway for the repeal apart. The impression I got was that they see the reasons as so self-evident there is no need to persuade.

The tables are littered with prompts and helpful guides along with all the supplies anyone could need.

Last night it was packed with all type of zinesters and set by Chubby Bird (with a zine of their lyrics so we could follow along).
