One time Joe Lhota said he wanted to see some positive tweets about the subway, and I answered the call. Repeal Hecht-Calandra. NYCDOE/NYCPS parent emeritus. All content is handcrafted _just_ for you and represents my personal opinions only
That reminds me, NYU doesn’t want people to see the acceptance rate for the full-pay international students who comprise 26% of undergraduates

If you’re admitting 50% of the class ED you’ll get some mean tweets from the “equity” crowd

If you’re admitting . . . 70%? 80%? . . . ED you’re risking a tipping point where RD applicants realize they’re drawing dead and don’t apply. A rising acceptance rate would be intolerable, so cover-up it is

Things can always be better than they are, but college is worth the cost, and in New York State SUNY and CUNY are accessible and low/no tuition for low to middle income families. The state’s well-resourced private colleges are effectively free for families around the state’s median HHI

Opinion | I was deep in neighborhood Facebook groups and Twitter replies all summer and fall posting that Mandummy would institute sharia law, seize private property, raze synagogues, and create a white people tax. Here’s why it’s outrageous that he hasn’t picked me to be his schools chancellor.
Zohran Mamdani didn’t add people and groups that actively campaigned against him to his transition team, and the New York Post is ON IT

One more thing: I am begging people to think critically about why there are Kumons in Tenafly, Scarsdale, Darien, etc and not confidently assert that it’s because the schools are terrible

I don’t doubt that Montclair’s schools have their issues, especially second-wave segregation

To hold it up as proof of all that’s wrong with K-12, with affirming quotes from the Hoover Institution, isn’t something to take seriously /end

Progressivism led to Montclair keeping its schools closed too long and hiring people who stole money (but the schools spend too much anyway). Throw in some opt-out, stitch together quotes from several “reformers”—there’s a Chris Cerf sighting ffs!—and voila, all liberal enclaves failed their kids

Waiting until later to read this because I am 90% sure there are inferences in here that will ruin my day

It’s awesome that the same readership that was whipped up into an Islamophobic frenzy by this paper is now being whipped up into a frenzy because the mayor isn’t taking staffing recommendations from the freaking Manhattan Institute, “elections have consequences” doesn’t apply when libs win, I guess

otoh I almost respect Place’s sticking to its guns and not scrubbing its website of pro-Cuomo content like the New York City Charter School Center has

It’s OUTRAGEOUS that PLACE NYC isn’t getting a prime seat in Zohran’s inner circle, I insist on speaking to the manager

That explains it!

The thing is though that the Minnesota short-bed truck camper Youtuber I religiously watch buys Rao’s sauce at the supermarket outside of the Superior National Forest, their products are somehow available everywhere now!
