it's quite bizarre moving from ~Melbourne The City of Literature~ where I studied writing and editing and publishing and could barely take a step without hearing about an arts or literary event... back to Tasmania.

I went out today and when I came home, walking up the driveway, the flock of magpies I’ve been feeding all flocked to me and followed me. Felt pretty badass.

This cat had never met a dog before we moved here, had only lived with one other cat who kept her distance. Now here she is with two doggos around her, and she’s purring away like a tractor.

Animals are not toys, jfc. I can’t imagine how terrified mum and baby wombat must have been. What a vile human. I hope a creature teaches her a painful lesson one day soon.

A beautiful afternoon storm, spent comforting a stressed Pomeranian. Poor princeling was too scared to notice the spoonful of peanut butter until I bonked him on the nose with it! Now post-storm, I am comforting a rather jealous cat, who kindly but begrudgingly let the dog have her spot on the bed.

I put ‘With Love, Meghan’ on for cozy bath-time watching and it’s so warm and light and lovely, what a balm. I must learn to make candles immediately.

Does anyone know if ‘naked ladies’ aka belladonna is okay to bring inside as cut flowers if you have a cat, or is it the same deal as lilies where even the pollen is toxic?
