I wonder how much worse it would have been if so many people hadn't realised what was coming and started changing their behaviours to limit unnecessary social contacts weeks before the government even mentioned lockdown?

I don't think there is an explanation anyone can give; It doesn't make any sense.

He's emboldened by how institutions have rolled over for him so far. This feels like the real test for standing up against the playground bully; he'll learn how far he can go internationally from this

I'm clearly utterly miserable about this as I don't put any decorations up until Xmas Eve (But then they remain for the full 12 days).
Maybe I need more twinkly lights in my life!

And still the fireworks will continue multiple times a week between now and New Year (I no longer walk my dog twice a day in autumn/winter as anything after 2pm is fair game for setting off fireworks round here)

I was just telling my daughter exactly what it will be like walking the dog tomorrow after all these fireworks and the particulates they pump into the air
(and don't get me started on all the firework waste that will be littering the ground and local park)

I've noticed the frequency of ads about trusting them recently.
I want them to DO things that help me trust them rather than being TOLD I should just trust them (which just gets my back up)
