Also the entire 'problematic' logic falls entirely flat when you realise that in this Hutt South scenario Craig would be displacing Ginny 🤦‍♂️

This too.

I'm gutted to see the end of Ōhāriu. Greg O'Connor has been a stellar local MP and has helped me dramatically in my role as a councillor from introductions, working together on resident queries and bringing the ethos that there is no such thing as a safe seat or election.

Yep, that's the case with almost literally everything we own. $6bn on water, $500m on housing etc. Still doesn't change the fact we don't have the money.

Te Toi Mahana manage social housing, council still own it. The HUP2 cost escalation from delay (should've been done 15 years ago) is even worse than GM and it's needed to bring homes up to healthy home standards. Becsuse money has to be found now (including $83m sludge) there's little flexibility.

We didn't offload our social housing. We're spending close to $500m to upgrade it.

Please let me know what we should cut $160m from in the city budget to deliver the GM in the next few years. Pipes, social housing upgrades, cycle lanes?

3) Drop off at the Southern Landfill, let the team know you have an item that may contain asbestos and they'll direct you

Leaving aside ridiculous failure that this could occur with a childrens product, here is the immediate guidance from WCC:

1) Place in a plastic bag, put that plastic bag in another plastic bag & tape shut
2) Label 'Contains Asbestos'

Where would you cut $115m of planned capital spending in the next 3 years from? Proceeding when you know it will blow out and council doesn't have financial capacity to wear it is ridiculously stupid.

On council papers (as they include GM review), for it to proceed as scoped, $115m+ needs to be found. $85m to offset sludge blowout, $15m to meet 100% scope, that leaves a conservative additional $15m contingency. I want to see it happen but we have to be realistic about $$$.
