I for one think candidates should run in the electorate where they live and have local connections.

Barbara Edmonds is going to be an excellent MP for the new Kenepuru electorate. She's fiercely intelligent, kind, considerate and hard working. I'm looking forward to getting her further acquainted in the southern end.

Contaminated sand ⚠️

I've had several emails asking about where/how to dispose of the Anko kinetic sand sold by Kmart which is potentially contaminated with asbestos.

Kmart's guidance thus far is just to "contact your local council for disposal".

The Countdown livery is being taken down at the Mall. I for one am outraged they could do this to Johnsonville's rich cultural heritage!

Homelessness outreach, housing placement, food bank, physiotherapy, rental assistance, dental clinic, mental health counseling and doctors practice - the team at DCM Wellington quite literally do it all.

The Grenada North Park upgrade has moved to Request for Proposal on the detailed design!

Key expectations: year round artifical turf with lighting, drainage improvements for other grounds, refreshed play area, new toilet block and fresh seal on the carpark.

Went out with Te Toi Mahana this morning to look at their redevelopment in Tawa.

✔️ 11 units > 36
✔️ $300k build cost for a 1 bed (vs. $180k maintenance cost on each 11)

Some parking issues to manage on match days for the Rugby Club but exciting stuff IMO.

Went along tonight with a good contingent of councillors to the premiere of Specialty: A coffee story.

It's an independent crowd funded doco telling the story of Swimsuit coffee. Great little film with a lot of heart.

Public on Friday 👇

Turns out Wellingtonians came out in force on Saturday, single biggest day of voting. 48% participation which is the best result since at least 2016.
