Hopefully this can be addressed first thing in the morning. The flashing light code tells me it overheated. The temp wasn't up very high at all on the unit, but the water indeed is always scalding.

I switched our regular dishes to 🌲holiday dishes🌲 yesterday and put out the matching decorations and removed the harvest décor from the porch. I love it because it's absolutely not Xmas decor, but it also won't arouse nosy questions from people who may decide it's "xmassy enough."

My least favorite part of making chicken soup is dealing with the bones. Putting off straining this situation on the stove now.
We did Thanksgiving on Sunday, but i made a lil chicken for my dude yesterday and I am sorry to report that he couldn't carve it because it was TOO juicy and tender. The meat kept falling off the bones 😟

Huh, turns out my dad didn't know that his grandmother was the cook for the [Prominent Southern] family, which is why I hadn't known that growing up. Glad I mentioned it to him; he can ask my cousin about it now. Two of my cousins will have many details avout it, actually!

I saw my neuro today and I feel like he could have a super lucrative career back east as a Ben Franklin reenactor, plus, he would not need malpractice insurance any longer.

Overall, Thanksgiving yesterday was a roaring success. We had plenty of food, people were able to load up on leftovers, and we have a lot of leftovers as well, and will likely need to freeze some! Big shout out to my neighbor who let me use her oven.

My PCP sent me to a new electrophysiologist who i finally got to see today. This is ultimately in response to the disabling event I've been dealing with since last November, but the referral to this particular Dr came from the cardiac emergency in August.

Between what I have been dealing with health-wise and my partner's upcoming surgery and everything we have to do to get ready for that (and hosting his family next weekend), I am not sure we are doing holiday cards this year 😩 we are normally at least halfway finished making them by now!

Gosh, I love my town so much. Got my Friday decaf in the picturesque uptown area in my cute coffee shop, chatted with the man who is a fixture there, walked out as clock chimed noon and crunchy leaves swirled around. Came home and took an autumn walk with my neighbor and we planned Thanksgiving 💜

I have never seen my polling location as busy as it was today in the middle of the workday--even in a presidential contest year. Yes, there is a ballot measure working people in town up, but this is a reaction to the fascism.

Goddamn I hate standard time. I'm happy I live much further west in the time zone, but when I was a kid, I would be dodging cars on my way home from school (no effing sidewalks that entire mile) and my extracurriculars didn't even go that late.
