Even when they are achieving victories their fathers could only have dreamed of, it is never enough. They are never happy. They are always being held back, limited, hurt, betrayed. It’s exhausting to be around them, I can’t imagine BEING them.

I get what you mean. But I’m an American. They were elected and/or appointed in American systems. Those are American “men” giving the order, firing American missiles from American boats. I didn’t vote for them, but I and we operate in the system and society that made them. We failed to stop them.

They presume their legitimacy will remain if they never tell Trump no, because there’s no risk that Trump will defy them. They fail to understand that they’re ensuring half the country starts ignoring them because they’re patently corrupt. And half the country is more than one fat old man in DC.
