I saw that today marks the start of Ramadan, Mardi Gras, and Lunar New Year. That means like HALF of the world is celebrating

Things have generally been feeling progressively bleaker and heavier, so hopefully we can all grab some good vibes today while they’re free flowing💖

The FCC Equal Time rule does not apply to cable tv. Does not, therefore, apply to the Fox News Channel. (And what you believe you've heard about "technically, it's entertainment" is misleading at best.) 10/

Kudos to Stephen Colbert for speaking out on CBS barring him from interviewing Senate candidate James Talarico due to threats from the FCC. Shows how FCC Chair doesn't need to actually do anything to get his way - the threats are enough to limit speech. WATCH: loom.ly/xhTty-k

this "equal time" rule Carr is exploiting is a dated relic that the Republican-eviscerated FCC would struggle to defend in court, but because Larry Ellison's CBS is so feckless and pathetically bound to the President, they can't be bothered

One final note: this rule only applies to candidates for public office. Officeholders who aren't seeking re-election this year (Mamdani, Warren, Schumer), or those who haven't yet qualified for the ballot (Shapiro's deadline is March 10) are exempt.

You probably have questions. I'll try to help. 8/
