Into rail, stats, economics, basketball, dogs, YIMBYISM and normcore (no lightcone) EA. Sometimes wrong, always chugging along.
More parking lots west of there especially near Frederick Douglass.

First on the list should be the surface parking lots. Especially the gigantic one right on central park west where Robert Moses tore down Manhattantown.

Might require using eminent domain.

Oh to be very clear I am not defending Sacks in the least here.

SVB was the victim of a bunch of idiots like him yelling fire in a crowded theater.
November 24, 2025 at 11:44 PM
Imo, bank bailouts are almost always a good idea, and we heavily regulate banks to make sure that such bailouts are rare.

I would defend the SV bank bailout while also steadfastly opposing any kind of tech company bailout.

Basically, depth increases oxygen's partial pressure at greater depths, so you can have too little oxygen for when you go back up without realizing it. Same higher pressures that can cause narcosis, except taking you from a deficit to normality instead of from normality to narcosis.
November 24, 2025 at 11:08 PM
You do have this fun issue apparently, which is a subset of not enough oxygen problems. Also ear issues. But the bends and narcosis seem much less of a problem though seem to still occur on rare occasions.
November 24, 2025 at 11:05 PM
Andor was better than a movie and S2 came out just this year.
November 24, 2025 at 10:01 PM
The bends is much less likely while free diving.

Free diving is almost much certainly riskier overall than scuba, due to the whole no oxygen thing, but with much lower depth related risks I think. No bends or nitrogen narcosis.

I'd say there are 5 tiers, with orders being debatable within them but not between them.

Tier 2 is just RotJ and Rogue One.

Tier 3 is just RotS and TLJ.

Tier 4 is Solo, TFA and A Phantom Menace.

Tier 5 is Clone Wars and Rise of Skywalker.

People who were hoping it would be dismissed with prejudice.
November 24, 2025 at 5:40 PM
I was hoping it would be dismissed WITH prejudice, but I'm not sure the distinction matters given the statute of limitations.

I'm not sure why this less hopefully less than 4 year period should be compared to a 120 year period. The Crimean was was over in Europe by 1860. I guess Mexico also had a civil war around the time of ours, but in general I think the US was not a great place then. Though I would still want to be
November 24, 2025 at 4:31 PM
Probably only the period of the civil war being worse in this regard.

With the two classic examples of drugs from traditional medicine, Artemisinin and aspirin, both underwent a big transformation to become scientific medicines. If a technique goes through that kind of scientific process it ends up becoming different in ways that I would consider good.

Lots of anti-Maduro Venezuelan refugees. But that is nowhere near 30% of the country.
November 24, 2025 at 4:14 AM
Red flag.
November 23, 2025 at 11:54 PM
If it goes through rigorous studies it's no longer TCM, it's science. If it's still labeled traditional medicine, there's a good chance there was an attempt to put it through rigorous studies and it failed at some point.
November 23, 2025 at 11:39 PM
Well, because they broke up.
November 23, 2025 at 4:55 AM
Yes of course but in context primate studies always refers to non-human primates, and not apes either.

The consumer reports analysis was really bad imo. No reason to be drinking a bunch of protein powder but the lead issue seems really exaggerated. thebsdetector.substack.com/p/huel-is-fine

I have done hallucinogens twice in my life, and it caused everything to look like sine waves one of those times. I don't have any explanation for this other than that the writer was on hallucinogens.

Shame is good, actually.
