Into rail, stats, economics, basketball, dogs, YIMBYISM and normcore (no lightcone) EA. Sometimes wrong, always chugging along.
More parking lots west of there especially near Frederick Douglass.

First on the list should be the surface parking lots. Especially the gigantic one right on central park west where Robert Moses tore down Manhattantown.

Might require using eminent domain.

You do have this fun issue apparently, which is a subset of not enough oxygen problems. Also ear issues. But the bends and narcosis seem much less of a problem though seem to still occur on rare occasions.

The Defense department account should definitely be banned for this, but people should not be using it as a defense of personal accounts that make jokey death threats, as that is just whataboutism, and even jokey death threats should earn suspension.

Weirdly I think that both of these statements are true. Epstein had a small circle of important people who he had power over through acting as a pimp and blackmailer, and a much larger circle of important people who he could influence with money and connections that he got from the smaller group.

Rail traffic started up on the year on attempts to preempt tariffs, fluctuated after that but benefitted from fewer hurricanes in the continental US compared to 2024. Now looking down during the critical holiday season in an unsurprising way.

About 68% of Americans support gay marriage. Support for abortion rights is much lower. To be clear Dobbs was also unpopular, but banning gay marriage would be in a different realm of unpopularity now.

There's a lot of pressure on him, he is obsessed with his popularity and it's in freefall because of this.

I had to check Sargeant's Twitter to make sure she hadn't gone full fasc, and I was actually pretty reassured that she is framing this as her debating against Andrews. A lot of the rest of her page is support for Zohran because he is a YIMBY.

Among the moderate/popularist election pundits -

Big wins for Lakshya who called the big Virginia and NJ wins and Shor whose form did ad work for Zohran.

Mildly positive for Nate Silver who gets to clown on Ackman.

Big miss for Matt, whose panicking in the past couple days looks really bad now.

Compare also the scenic beauty of the Hudson River valley where NYC is located to the monotonous pancake that is the Texas triangle.

For whichever polling average you prefer. The Epstein ballroom and shutdown are not going well for Trump.

Pictured is the failure of YIMBYism in Austin (sarcasm.)

This is incredibly disturbing info.

The details in this 1888 map are pretty interesting to look at.

I do not think it looks much different if you look at the funding picture.

I do not think this is at all true. If you look at EA cause prioritization post 2020 human and animal welfare still ranks extremely high.

And though I personally rank global development and animal welfare causes as more important the people focused on AI safety are generally trying to do the

I really hope it ends up looking more like the renderings, which do seem pretty, and not like the current photos which have all seemed ugly.

The stained glass looks cool, the overall from does not but hopefully that gets fixed as more detail is added.

I distinctly remember Yudkowsky saying something like this and stating regret for raising the salience of AI early on, but can't find it right now. A search for regret on his twitter profile right now comes up with this instead.

Could just replace Zohrans numbers with his yougov neutral+unfavorable then? To match the others.

Lakshyas numbers are almost certainly more accurate but best to compare apples to apples here.
