I also refuse to tolerate the whole passive aggressive ass "well sorry I just want to remain informed about the things I'm engaging"-tbh that's just a hoity toity way of saying "*scoff* it's not my fault in more woke than you"---

I mean are you being woke or are you being an asshole?

It low key gives the same energy of 2000s 4chan trolling. Or the rise of assholes who would "well actually" you into oblivion.

The goalpost usually will just keep moving until you either do exactly what they want or they specifically feel included and I just don't entertain it anymore.

But in specific I'm not spending my energy explaining to what is oftentimes a non-Black person the importance and value of Black focused efforts-because the problem isn't the 'call out': it's that they understand EXACTLY how it works but still want to be centered In This One Too.

I grew tired of people who saw things like me raising money for Black causes and screaming "but why aren't you including [OTHER GROUP] in this" and y'all: if you see a Black person raising money for a Black charity or putting on a Black good drive I just feel like that doesn't need explaining.

We need to stop clinging so hard to parasocial relationships. We need to start treasuring the people who actually interact with us, and are willing to do so on our own terms, with integrity and respect, not just because they have talent of some kind.
