My biggest concern with funding is actually the ‘how’. We are designing it as a social service for the poor, instead of making it a genuine alternative.

Most transit authorities in the US get the vast majority of funding from non-fare sources, usually from state and federal governments.

I totally get opposing free transit in strong transit systems, but it’s a non-issue otherwise.

STRONGLY agree. My city has a comprehensive plan that better represents the community in every way. I wish we would follow it more.

I wish development charges could represent the actual impact new development has, and not just the impact nobody else wants to pay for.
