Tbf, that's likely a rolling 2050, as actions from which important people require insulating from potential consequences of pile up. I don't expect an end to the "this wouldn't have happened in Britain" culture in my lifetime. Maybe the odd mild scapegoat like the king's brother, but no more.

the US judiciary is hardly noncorrupt but it is mostly transparent. in the UK nobody has any clue what goes on

Given the number of people who now require protecting from the consequences of their actions at least until they retire, I’d expect the state to be on full defensive lockdown until the 2050s at least.
