By shifting the reaction away from the electrode surface, it also reduces unwanted byproducts. The process works in a flow reactor and can cut greenhouse gas emissions by about 30% compared with conventional routes.

A #PKUResearch used carbon defects to speed up the redox cycling of TEMPO mediators, solving a bottleneck in electrochemical C–N coupling. The system reaches ~99% Faraday efficiency and an industrial-level current density of ~0.6 A/cm² for producing hexamethylenetetramine.

We always say no pain, no gain… but what if some pain brings no gain at all?

We asked neuroscientist and Oxford VC, Prof. Irene Tracey. 'Good Pain is that quick "ouch!" when your finger grazes a candle flame. Bad Pain is ignoring it and letting it burn.'

The study shows how visual learning is strengthened during awake periods through precise photic stimulation. No invasive tools needed—just a simple method to enhance learning and brain plasticity.

Could flashing lights be the future of accelerated learning? 🧠💡

✨Your Brain Learns When You’re Awake too

We used to think only sleep could consolidate our learning, but new #PKUResearch reveals a breakthrough: specific frequencies of light flicker can actively boost memory consolidation while we’re awake.

Led by Zhang Yao & PhD candidate Qiu Jinghao, the team found that antecedent climate anomalies contribute to over 38.2% of the drop in ecosystem productivity during extremes. This “memory effect” provides a crucial, observation-constrained benchmark for predicting carbon fluxes under climate change.

Did you know that an ecosystem’s memory of past weather can dictate its survival during extreme events?

A new #PKUResearch has uncovered this hidden driver:

Researchers cocultured Chlamydomonas reinhardtii with river bacteria and found that while both were suppressed alone, together they exhibited hormesis under several antibiotics, especially azithromycin (AZM). This highlights how microbial cooperation reshapes pollutant effects in aquatic ecosystems.

Antibiotics were supposed to kill them. Instead, they thrived—together.🦠A new #PKUResearch shows that freshwater algae and bacteria can cooperate in response to antibiotics, turning growth inhibition into stimulation.
