12/03 After my photonics final exam I had to work on some simulations to compare data to the experimental part for tomorrow’s final presentation.

They don’t seem to align that much, so maybe there was some error in the setup of the simulation, but that’s a problem for tomorrow.

Marvel bought Celestial AI for $3.25B.

Celestial is five years old, has no shipping products, it's not AI, it's just photonics research reportedly with 140 employees. If it were a generous acquihire at 2M per employee then they overpaid by a magnitude because it's called AI.

I was on staff at Texas Monthly in Austin. Lived there 12 yrs. Then back to Bellingham WA, on staff at SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics w/ global conferences on astronomical instrumentation & astrophysics.
Nice to meet people interested in politics & STEM. Retired 15 yrs.
