True. All I am arguing is that it is possible for aggregate real wages to increase without “most people’s” individual real wages increasing. one wealthy guy getting a 12% pay raise while dozens of folks at the poverty line get 2% raises would show massive real wage growth in that population.

It is categorically false that a small increase in aggregate real wages *necessarily* implies more people’s real wages have increased than decreased. I don’t have the underlying data so I won’t pretend I *know* they aren’t “for most people.” But that one number does not guarantee they are.

An aggregate of all real wages doesn’t tell us anything about the “majority of people.” It tells us nothing about how those wage increases are distributed.

Or, if you understand that sentence you may also understand that a single statistic does not measure on its own anything meaningful with regard to “affordability.” It looks like it supports your argument but what about the dozens of other charts demonstrating the wealth gap?
