For me it’s far and away the funniest show on TV. As someone who had to do dumb 3d design projects in college, does client work, and has tattoos it just hits every time.

In my experience, and knowing other toy artists, he probably got paid an upfront sum for the rights and then like 1-3% of each sold but also gets to do whatever with his character.

Lots of pop mart stuff is single artist! Peach riot specifically comes to mind as well as Skull Panda. There’s also an expansive world of designer toys that seem to be where new characters are being found.
