The big weakness in Trumpicana is the lack of geniuses. Or simple competence, even.

Maybe the administration needs to start recognizing bad-faith student complaints as such.

They spent decades rejecting all sexual harassment complaints as bad faith. Surely they still have some of that boilerplate lying around they could reuse?

But was it? It so egregiously ignores the assignment it feels intentional. I think that essay was bait; it was intended to create grounds for making a complaint.

The original essay is a hit job. A plant. A pretense to harass some instructors at a university and push a policy argument.

Thank you for the clarification.

I'm kind of worried by how many supposed new sources haven't bothered to sort that out.

I think about future Americans reading a transcript of a Trump speech. They'll think we had all suffered some sort of communal brain damage.

They won't be wrong.

Ah, yes, thank you. Soldier preference isn't necessarily a good metric. I should've realized that.

But, still, things that make sense are easier to learn.
November 29, 2025 at 3:41 PM
Now that I think about it:

When I was a kid, “retarded” was still being used as an official designation, but ”moron” wasn't used it the technical sense—it was purely an insult.

So I find it easier to understand the problem with “retard” as an insult.

Not that it NEEDS to make sense to me…

While we're at it, can we agree that Hitler was not an evil genius? He was a stupid, angry little man who lead a collection of credulous geniuses and evil cynics.
November 29, 2025 at 3:30 PM
Oh, jeebus, don't do that. I can learn, really I can!

KN95s are a great way to keep your nose and face warm in frigid weather. I've made them part of my standard winter gear.

I find it very weird that, AFAICT, no one else has. That's how stupid the issue of masking has become—people would rather be uncomfortable than wear a mask.

The irony being that what they add in terms of value is NOTHING.

You can find them under the term “sausage kolaches” in Texas, at least.

And, yes, some yankee state should definitely start sending coleslaw to
Texas in exchange for sausage kolaches.

Nah, Pete seems like a “NO REGERTS” kinda guy.

ISTR a number of books about Vietnam saying that many US troops preferred the AK-47 to the AR-15. Has the weapon been refined since then to the point of superiority?

(Let's define a use: US white-guy spree killing.)

Can't help but think maybe their leadership *wanted* to do make these regressive changes.

Perhaps we underestimated the importance of barriers to entry for gatekeeping? The advocates of the internet thought giving everyone a printing press would lead to a flurry of pamphlets debating ideas—instead we a got a blizzard of crudely drawn penises and Elders of Zion reprints.
