‘Reports about Alderaan’s explosion are conflicting,’ reports BBC News. ‘The Emperor says a “defensive shot” was fired, while others claim the planet was destroyed in an unprovoked attack’

A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

The "New Trek isn't real Star Trek" argument is stupid. It's all Trek. Like whatever you want, dislike anything that doesn't work for you, but let people enjoy whatever the hell they want.

Stop pretending that older Trek was always mature, intelligent and of a high quality. Quality can vary.

If you are still using Spotify in any way by this point, you're just a bit of a garbage person.
In April 2024, Spotify implemented a new scheme: songs with less than 1k streams per year would no longer receive royalties.

The data for 2025 was just released via Luminate, and 88% of songs have been demonetized.

Read it again: 88% of songs on Spotify have been demonetized.

Both HP Lovecraft and Douglas Adams wrote about how the human mind would be utterly and irrevocably broken if it were to comprehend our true insignificance in the universe for even a second. The main difference was Lovecraft assumed you'd need an eldritch horror, Adam's version involved a cupcake.

Today's book was Ringmaster by Josephine Riesman @josie.zone. A brilliant read, especially if, like me, you are a wrestling fan who has had to grapple with the truly disgusting Vince McMahon is the one who brought you to be a fan. And how Vince and Trump are two sides of the same coin.

Today in Star Trek Adventures, the crew of the USS Horizon investigated a bombing blamed on Starfleet. AJ used Vulcan Capoeira to dodge attacks and we engaged ina combat scene where I could have played Yakkety Sax. Everyone kept missing all attacks! Multiple people ended up on their arses.
