They should just come out and state that they don’t want kids on the internet, so that we can then debate how useless and unrealistic that proposition is, beyond just academia

It is literally the hardest of science that shows the planet is warming due to human activities, fossil fuels leading among them. If fossil fuels get to decide what is misinformation, then we are only going to get further into the hole.

And absolutely GRRRR at the ongoing criminalisation of environmental activism - we will surely end up without a society or environment to monetise if we demonise all our efforts to course correct. And governments have to step up to defend against criminalisation of protest - yet hate accountability

We need to remember that the fossil fuel lobby is and has long been one of the biggest contributors to misinformation, because environmental action undermines their business model- when we speak about misinformation we need to think about the normative implications of the misconduct, not just ‘info’
