Snow day coping skills. Wassail. I like recipes where it’s basically, “Here are the ingredients. Put them all in a pot together, turn on the heat, come back in an hour, add bourbon, and drink it down.” The house is about to smell amazing.

It's the Christmas season, so remember what Santa has ALWAYS thought about coal. End fossil fuels, for goodness' sake!

The 1950s were pretty wild, too.

I'm of Irish and German descent. People like me, who feel safe now, should remember that 80 years ago, Germans were persona non grata in the US. 120 years ago, signs like this were commonplace. Irish were pariahs. As Italians once were.

Deport criminals, fine. Leave our grandparents alone.

To anyone calling the shooting of two National Guardsmen in DC "un-American."

There is literally nothing more typically American than gun violence. Nothing. That's like saying maple syrup is un-Canadian. It's so obvious as to be ridiculous to suggest otherwise.

"America is a gun." Brian Bilston.

Was just talking with friends about this last night. We were speaking of the merely little things we are in a position to do. Reminded me of Amos Oz's Order of the Teaspoon.

Wendell Berry is one of my all-time favorite writers/thinkers. Poets have a gift for cutting to the quick.

Oligarchs and their pet members of Congress seem disinclined to care that insurance premiums are skyrocketing. #OneBudgetBustingBillAct

A breakthrough would be people growing their own food. Gardening, like Victory Garden gardening, is a revolutionary act. Lawns are a sign of acquiescence to late-stage capitalism and its fossil fuel guardians. Growing food gardens also grows community. As Robin Wall Kimmerer eloquently explains.

It's appalling that we as a country are stupid enough to make it profitable to advertise BS like this.

Portland's frog is great, but the whistle and whistle blowers should be the symbol of our Resistance.

> Chicago's use to call reinforcements against ICE
> Government and corporate whistle blowers make it possible to enforce broken rules

They're loud and unapologetic. Like us.
