I also got to photograph this lovely hybrid, a male 7/8ths Albidus, 1/8 Northern Goshawk. The Northern influence gives him more darker feathers.

A juvenile African hawk-eagle, Aquila spilogaster. A relatively small member of the booted eagle family. Juveniles have this lovely golden brown almost toasted hue while adults are almost black and white with a mottled chest. #falconry #raptor #birdsofprey #birds #wildlife #nature #eagle

I love being a falconer and exotic pet keeper, it gives me moments like these. Australia's smallest owl and Australia's heaviest cockroach in one hand. The owl is Irwin, my Boobook owl, the roach is a juvenile Rhino roach, not just Australia's heaviest, but the world's. #birds #bugsky #falconry
