I unsubbed to spotify without looking back Feb of this year. YT is harder to divest from because there is so much useful independently made content. Outside of reporting those ads when I see them (which may have no real effect) I’m unclear how to proceed with YT outside of not watching content.

This is the way. I’m similarly trying to wean myself off of being plugged up to all these moronic tech distractions. Books, analog music listening (CDs, not streaming services), tactile creativity like drawing and painting. I think it’s critical to get back to those nourishing activities.

I’m a creative who works for tech companies. Current job is all about AI enabled workflows. Without adding “new skillsets” I’m super replaceable at this point in time.

I unsuccessfully offset my daily hypocrisy by bitching about Ai on my bluesky page. Maybe someday I’ll get rich and go full ludd.

Shop local (assuming there's no obvious fascist regime support associated with the business).

Buy from the source, not from a Bezos warehouse.

Look for ways to support your community, now that so much funding has been stripped from programs that once provided that support.
