i have lots from Providence RI this past winter, showing sidewalks, curb cuts, and mixed use paths that had not been cleared or treated and were allowed to ice over. Many are covered in the footprints and tire tracks of people who had to walk and roll over these icy segments anyway.

The U.S. Commerce Department published 95 new requests for inclusion of derivative products in the Section 232 aluminum and steel tariffs. Two requests were made to add bicycles, frames and e-bikes to those tariffs. If these two inclusion requests are granted, all bicycles and frames imported into the US from any country would be subject to a 50% tariff on both their steel and aluminum content. There are TWO requests for inclusion of bicycles, frames and electric bicycles, one from Guardian Bikes and the other from the Aluminum Extruders Council.

WIRED ABS brakes! New smart system. Probably the safest bike around for toting kids. Still compact and wonderfully easy to ride. Useful front wheel lock. Still has the best accessories. The most popular bike in town. TIRED There are so many great value cargo bikes. Battery life is a little disappointing. The external cabling system is annoying.

Hi Katie, I have a commuter question! When are we gonna connect up the bike lanes into a real regional network? I used to drive every day to commute to work, then at some point I started trying out biking there. For a while, I went back and forth, biking on nice days and driving in bad weather. Every time I had to get in the car to go downtown or into Cambridge from Brookline, I had to prepare for anxiety and boredom, sitting in a line of cars at light after light, stewing inside the car. The drive might be ten minutes faster on a lucky day, or twenty minutes slower if there's an accident or maybe for no apparent reason at all. At some point, I decided to just get rain gear and bike every single day. It felt daring at first, but I eventually found easy ways that felt safer to bike than main roads. And all around Boston, cities and towns kept adding more bike routes and calming traffic. That all was years ago. I've kept biking my commute, and it has kept on getting better. I don't have to get stuck in random traffic jams, so my commute always takes about the same amount of time. It's predictable, I don't have to pay for gas or stress about parking, and yeah, it's kind of fun to get some exercise before and after work without paying for a gym membership. I'll note: I'm not a "cyclist" cyclist, with the spandex and the clip-in shoes. I ride every day to and from work, in my regular clothes, on a pretty humble, old school steel bike. When I arrive at my destination, you'd never know I biked there. So again, here's my commuter question: when are we going to get serious about connecting all the great bike routes in Greater Boston? There are still huge gaps that make it difficult for novices to find safe, continuous bike routes to their most important destinations. Every person who can take the trip to work or school on a bike instead of a car is gaining something for themselves, and giving something back to their community, too. Even when I am behind the wheel, I'm glad for bike lanes, which help people on bikes be predictable and orderly within the flow of traffic. It just seems like low hanging fruit. The more bike routes there are, the better connected they are to neighborhoods and points of interest, the more people can choose to bike some of their trips. When are we gonna unlock the utility of bikes for everyday life?
