I don’t think it’s weird for the partner (or the breastfeeding person themself) to be curious to try it one time, I know a lot of people do that. The whole idea weirded out my husband but I wouldn’t have cared if it hadn’t. That being said, it’s definitely also a fetish for some people.

Fertility awareness can be used in combination with condoms during the fertile window. I know some people who do that and are happy with it (could never be me). But some of these weirdos find ways to be against condoms too.

It’s a minority of the left who are like this but it’s a pretty unavoidable minority because they never shut up. Their influence shouldn’t be dismissed.

You can always judge people. (And you should, it’s good to judge immoral behavior.) There’s usually not much you can do about it as a private citizen though. And there’s not much anyone can do at all that’s terribly effective at this point. Longer term change is probably the answer.

What is “our culture?” There is enormous variation in norms about this across different communities and regions in the US.

There’s no such thing as intimacy without occasional hurt. But healing are repair are also things. And there are degrees of harm. Harm is not always the same thing as abuse or trauma. This logic could be applied to say that *no* relationships are worth it and I don’t believe that.

You are not from my culture, there is no “we.” You have no idea of the norms of my community around questioning parents or elders or of how much reflecting I’ve done on my own upbringing. Of course I was harmed. My parents made mistakes. People who love each other sometimes cause each other pain.

I mean, I don’t think I was broken for life by being a child? My parents weren’t perfect but they did a good job and I’m close with them as an adult. (And yes, I am very aware that makes me lucky.)
