It’s also about times of your life, IMO. A book you can’t stomach one day may become a favorite when you’re ready for it – it happened to me with The Scarlet Letter, for instance.

I use this recipe, with added lentils. It’s terrific, everyone I made it for loves it. Because I have wonderful Meyer lemons on hand (not bitter or sour, very soft skin), I just chop the lemons into the soup instead of merely using the juice.
