From London, lives in Houston with Tabatha, John, Eleanor, dogs (4) and cats (2). Horrible at predicting at how my car fleet will look like in 12 months, currently includes a Mini, 911 and TR6, all with issues. Needs a bacon sandwich, Mars bar and a cuppa.
"Drill baby drill" shows a total lack of understanding of basic economics and how supply and demand works. Alternative energy helps decrease energy costs in a sustainable way.

Reducing NOAA and Park rangers plus reduced regulation will see more forest fires. NOAA reduction will lead to less natural disaster preparedness and hence increased cost and lives lost. Plus increased insurance costs.

America is now violating the agreement it made with Ukraine in 1993 — guaranteeing Ukraine’s security in exchange for Ukraine giving up its nuclear arsenal and Black Sea fleet
Either America needs to honor its promises — or Ukraine gets its nukes and ships back, don’t you think?

Not a fan of the Daily Telegraph at all, but around a year ago they wrote a great piece about the war in Ukraine. Its main point was that the US supporting Ukraine helped to severely weaken the Russian military machine. It was thus an investment in their own security through a proxy.

Come invade America. Then as America we will accept losing 20% of America as a fair settlement. I am sure all Americans accept that, oh and take 50% of America's mineral rights too for negotiating this settlement.

When I was in Syria they were functional under Hafeez Assad, but worrying about what would happen when his son took over. The local beer often had a fly trapped in the bottle too, you always checked it before drinking.

"Allo, Marhaba" - I have great memories from visiting Damascus 30 years ago. It was gloriously chaotic, every day had an element of adventure about it. I hope I can go back, I hope for a good outcome but fear turmoil for several more years. Such a shame, some of the friendliest people I have met.
