Musically, the Command Records aesthetic was Hollywood/Las Vegas Fake Jazz dance music, with an emphasis on clever arrangements. The instruments are always very clean and clear, and there's a LOT of stereo "ping pong" gimmickery. It's not easy listening, though, because it's all lively and jittery.

Command Records' whole shtick was QUALITY: state of the art recording techniques, immaculate production, audiophile pressings, exhausting liner notes and technobabble, and sturdy gatefold sleeves with Charles Murphy's lavish art direction, featuring designs by Josef Albers and others.
